discordRosters

Each member claims their FBS team and optionally adds stream links. All 138 FBS programs are pre-loaded with standard abbreviations and conflict resolutions.

Commands

  • /roster add — Claim a team with full autocomplete. Commishes can set for any member.
  • /roster set — Update team or stream links after setup.
  • /roster view — Show the full league roster with streams.

Abbreviation conflicts

  • OSU = Ohio State · ORST = Oregon State · OKST = Oklahoma State
  • SC = South Carolina · USC = Southern Cal

discordwebAdvance Cadence

The cadence anchors to a fixed schedule regardless of when advances happen — no drift over the season.

Set it in either place. /schedule cadence in Discord and Settings → Advance Schedule in the web app change the same thing, using the same math — there's no primary copy and no need to repeat yourself. Set it on the web and the Discord status board picks up the new deadline within about 15 minutes, with a note in your league channel so nobody misses that the week moved.

/schedule cadence options

  • hours — Cadence in hours (48, 72, 96, etc.)
  • day — Anchor day of the month (e.g. 15 for the 15th)
  • hour + ampm + minute — Time of day
  • timezone — ET / CT / MT / PT dropdown
  • advanceAuto (default) or Manual — see below

Auto vs. Manual advance

By default the bot advances the week automatically the moment the deadline passes. Set advance: Manual to have the bot ping commishes instead — the cadence still tracks so there's no drift, but the advance only happens when a commish runs /advance.

Good for: leagues that occasionally need a short grace period to let a player finish their game before the week closes. Commishes get a channel ping the moment the deadline passes, then advance on their own schedule.

This is the league default, not a lock. Any single week can go the other way with /schedule week advance: — see below. Handy for the one rivalry week you want to run yourself, or a holiday week nobody will be around to advance.

DST note: Offsets in the dropdown reflect summer/DST hours. After DST ends (November) or begins (March), re-run /schedule cadence to correct the offset by one hour.

Other schedule commands

  • /schedule week — Move one week's deadline without touching the cadence — see below
  • /schedule pause — Pause auto-advances for breaks
  • /schedule resume — Resume from pause
  • /schedule offseason — Enter offseason mode
  • /schedule view — Show current settings, next deadline, and advance mode

Moving a single week's deadline

/schedule week changes the deadline for one week and leaves your cadence anchor alone, so the week after snaps back to the normal schedule. Give it day, hour and ampm — plus minute, month or timezone if you need them.

Leave week blank and it moves the deadline for the week you're on right now. To set one up in advance, start typing a week's name and pick it from the list — you don't need to know that Players Leaving is week 24.

When you move the current week's deadline, the status board updates immediately and every open game thread gets told the window changed. Ready check-ins are kept.

Auto or manual for one week only

/schedule week also takes advance, and it applies to that week alone: Auto advances at the deadline, Manual pings commishes and waits for /advance, and League default clears the override so the week follows your cadence setting again. You don't have to flip the whole league to manual for one week and remember to flip it back.

Leave the option off and the week keeps whatever mode it already had, so moving a deadline never quietly undoes a choice you made earlier. /schedule view marks the weeks that differ from the league setting.

discordRunning an Advance

1

/advance start

Launches the wizard. Shows the next advance deadline, pre-set matchups for next week, a per-matchup checklist of any FWs still needing in-game action, and a summary of FW outcomes already recorded this week via /matchup fw.

2

Review and confirm

Bot shows a summary of the current week. Commish confirms to proceed.

3

Week advances

Status board updates to the new week, open UvU threads are archived, and the next deadline snaps to the cadence anchor.

Use /preview anytime for a readiness snapshot without starting the advance.

Weeks with no games

Preseason and the offseason weeks — Recap, Players Leaving, the portal weeks, Signing Day, Training Results, Encourage Transfers — have nothing to play, so advancing into one creates no game threads and asks nobody for a result. The status board leads with that week's actions instead, and points to what's up next. In Preseason that's hire staff and manage your blueprint, set up your recruiting board and scout, and custom schedules; at Players Leaving it's your new coordinators taking their seats.

The season rollover tells you what it did

Advancing out of the last week turns the dynasty year over, and that rewrites a lot at once: classes advance, seniors and draftees come off the roster, both recruiting boards sort themselves, and every player's overall is cleared. Done silently, the reasonable conclusion is that something broke.

So the bot says it out loud, twice. Two advances out — on the way into Training Results — it posts what's worth locking in first. That timing is the point: dev traits change that week, and recording them before the rollover is what carries the new values into the new season instead of last year's. After the rollover it posts what changed and why the overalls are blank, alongside the recruiting summary.

The same checklist appears on every coach's dashboard, tailored to what they personally still have outstanding, and it disappears once they're done. Commissioners see their own items too — awards, conference alignment, next season's schedule.

Setting a one-off deadline

To give next week a different deadline than your cadence would pick — a holiday, a long weekend, a week where half the league is away — pass day, hour and ampm to /advance start. Add minute, month or timezone if you need them; times are Central unless you say otherwise. It takes the nearest sensible future date, so asking for the 3rd when it's already the 10th means next month.

The preview marks it as a manual override before you confirm, and it replaces the cadence deadline for that week only — the anchor is untouched, so the week after snaps back to your normal schedule.

Manual advance mode: If your cadence is set to Manual — or you set just this week that way with /schedule week advance: — the bot posts a channel ping when the deadline passes and waits for a commish to run /advance. The next deadline still snaps to the cadence anchor — no drift regardless of how long the delay is.

Your league is saved before every advance

An advance changes a lot at once — especially the one that rolls you into a new season, which ages every player a class, carries your staff over, and clears out last year's recruiting board. Before any of that happens, DynastyDesk records exactly how your league looked, so a bad advance can be unpicked instead of guessed at.

This also means an advance that can't be recorded won't run. If that ever happens you'll see it straight away and nothing will have changed — just try again. It's deliberately the noisier failure: a week you have to advance twice is a minor annoyance, a season quietly advanced wrong is not.

discordStream Alerts

When a member is about to play their game and wants the league to tune in, they run /golive. The bot posts a rich embed to a dedicated stream alert channel — separate from the status board — with their stream link(s), current week, and matchup details.

Admin setup (one-time)

1

Configure the alert channel

Run /dd streams channel with no argument to auto-create #stream-alerts, or pass an existing channel to use it instead. This enables stream alerts in one step.

2

Members add stream links

Each member runs /roster set to add their Twitch or YouTube URL (or both) — or adds them on the web under Player Settings, which updates the same profile. These are also used by /games for the weekly UvU schedule view.

Member usage

  • /golive — Posts the go-live embed to the stream alert channel. Shows both Twitch and YouTube if both are configured. Includes the week label and opponent (or "Simulation game" for CPU matchups).

Admin controls

  • /dd streams disable — Pauses stream alerts without clearing the channel config. Re-run /dd streams enable to resume.

No stream link set? If a member runs /golive without a Twitch or YouTube URL on their profile, they receive a private message with instructions to add one via /roster set — or they can add it on the web under Player Settings.

discordStorylines

Storylines writes a recap of each week and posts it to your league channel when you advance — who beat whom and by how much, upsets, rivalry games, the stat lines worth mentioning, win and loss streaks, anyone closing in on a record, and any change of The Belt. Weeks without games don't get one.

Record chases

When one of your players is on pace to break a school, conference, or national record, the recap follows it week to week — where they are now, whose record it is, and what their pace projects to by the end of the season. It's the same chase your dashboard tracks on the Record Watch card, so the two always agree.

It won't get ahead of the story: a recap can say someone is on pace, and how much they still need, but it can't call a record broken until it actually is. Record chases need the Records module turned on.

Turning it on

  • A commissioner enables it in Settings in the web app.
  • Pick a voice: beat writer (the default), hype, snark, or a plain wire report.
  • Write league context — running jokes, rivalries that aren't on the map, who talks the most trash. Every week's recap is told about it.

Adding context for one week

Pass notes to /advance start for a one-off: an injury, a side story, a callout. The preview echoes them back before you confirm, so you can see what the recap is about to be told. Notes only apply when you advance manually — an automatic advance uses your league context on its own.

Where recaps show up

  • Posted to your league channel as part of the advance.
  • On the web Dashboard, and in a Storylines archive with every week of the season.
  • Rate them 👍/👎 with the reactions on the Discord post or on the web.

Telling us one missed

React 👎 and DynastyDesk sends you a direct message asking what missed, with four one-tap answers — it got something wrong, it missed the real story, wrong voice, or nothing much happened that week — and a box if you'd rather write it out. Four answers rather than a rating, because those are four different problems with four different fixes, and "bad recap" doesn't say which one it was.

One message per recap, only to the person who reacted, and only ever after you've thumbed one down. Whatever you write is kept even if you take the 👎 back later.

It can't make things up. Every number and name in a recap is checked against that week's real data before anything is posted. A fabricated score or an invented player fails the check, the recap is rewritten once, and if it still doesn't hold up nothing is posted at all.

discordwebTeam Draft

Deciding who coaches which school is the first thing a new league has to settle, and most do it live on a stream with a spinner site and a spreadsheet. The Team Draft brings that in: pick the schools that are in play, draw the order, and let everyone claim a team on their own time. The result goes straight onto the roster, so there is nothing to type up afterwards.

The order is checkable, not just watched

The reason leagues stream a draft is so nobody can say it was rigged. Watching it happen is a weaker guarantee than it looks — it proves the wheel spun, not that the wheel was fair.

So before anything is drawn, /draft lottery commit posts a fingerprint of the secret seed to your channel. Discord's own timestamp proves when. Then /draft lottery run takes a piece of public randomness from you — a word from chat, the score of whatever game is on — and the order follows from it. Afterwards the seed is revealed, and anyone can run /draft verify to re-run the draw and confirm it produces exactly the order that was posted.

Worth being precise about. If you skip the public randomness, this proves the seed was fixed before the draw and not swapped afterwards — but not that it wasn't chosen from several. Typing something unpredictable after the fingerprint is public closes that gap completely. The bot says so when you leave it out.

Put it on your stream

Every draft gets a public link. Ping-pong balls tumble in a hopper and drop into the order one at a time, then it becomes the pick board. It's paced off the server clock, so you, someone who opens it forty seconds late, and someone who refreshes mid-draw all see the same ball land at the same moment. If you run weighted odds, you can see it — a coach with ten balls has ten balls in the drum.

The page checks the draw in the viewer's own browser. A tick mark from the same machine that ran the lottery wouldn't prove much.

Missing your window doesn't cost you your pick

NFL rules. When your time runs out you're passed, not skipped: the next coach goes up straight away so the draft never stalls waiting on one person, and your pick is still yours to use whenever you appear. The moment you run /draft pick, the school is yours. You lose your place in line and nothing else.

That means a draft can run over days without anyone babysitting it. If everyone left has been passed, the board simply goes open and the first to pick gets it.

Choosing the schools

Filter by conference and then add or remove individual schools, either from the web app — a searchable grid of every team with a counter that turns red if you have fewer schools than coaches — or with /draft pool add from your phone. Conference filters follow your league's realignment, not the stock alignment.

Turning it on

  • A commissioner enables Team Draft in Settings in the web app.
  • Run /draft setup start to create one — it adds every active coach automatically.
  • Starting a new era with /dd newdynasty clears everyone's team, which is the natural moment to draft again.

Command Reference

Every command is tagged with who can run it. About half are commissioner-only — filter down to the half you need. Commissioners run the player commands too, so that view is the admin-only list rather than everything a commish can type.

If you log a result against someone who has since retired, it counts straight away as a CPU game instead of waiting on a confirmation that isn’t coming.

FAQ

Is DynastyDesk free?
Yes, completely free. No subscriptions, no premium tiers.
What game does it support?
EA College Football 25, 26, and 27 dynasty leagues. Screenshot parsing is calibrated for both CFB 26 and CF27. All 138 FBS teams pre-loaded including NDSU and Sacramento State (joining FBS in 2026).
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Use the Feedback tab on the right edge of any page in the web app, or the Report a Bug link in the footer below, which opens the form for you. Write it up, optionally attach a screenshot, and it reaches the team instantly. No Discord account needed. You can also report in the support server.
Do I need webhooks or a game API?
No. DynastyDesk is fully manual — it works on commissioner input and member reactions. More flexible and more reliable than webhook-dependent bots.
Can I set up mid-season?
Yes. Use the starting_week autocomplete in /dd setup to match your current position in the season. Weeks before your starting point will have no data — that's expected.
My dynasty is already in Year 3+ — do I have to advance through every prior year?
No. Pass starting_year in /dd setup (e.g. starting_year:2028) alongside starting_week. The bot starts tracking from that exact year and week. Prior years are blank by design — DynastyDesk only tracks from the point you set up.
Can I use it in an existing server?
Yes. Point it at any channel. If your server has non-league members, set a member role during setup to scope all bot interactions.
How do I change the league channel?
Run /dd channel. All league data stays intact — no redo required.
Can I have multiple commishes?
Yes. Multiple commish IDs are supported. All receive DM notifications for FW requests and alerts.
What timezone do times show in?
Pick your own zone when you set a time — DynastyDesk stores the exact moment and shows it to every member in their local time, both in Discord and on the web dashboard. Daylight saving is handled automatically, so a time set in the summer still reads correctly in December. No need to re-run /schedule cadence when the clocks change.
How do I remove the bot?
Right-click DynastyDesk in your member list and select Remove from Server. League data is preserved in the database — re-invite later and it picks up where it left off.
Something broke. Where do I get help?
Join DynastyDesk HQ at discord.gg/cYFyV7Uvy and post in #setup-help or #bug-reports with the command you ran and what happened.
